When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.

It was a fantastic stay at the hotel despite the on-going epidemic. The staff were incredibly courteous at the front desk - they offered a prompt arrival, offered tea, explained all the features of the hotel and mentioned ahead of time the limitations due to the coronavirus - well anticipated. The aesthetics of the room were phenomenal down to every intricate detail. The technology available in the room (automatic lighting, blinds, TVs, TVs in mirror of bathroom, and music system) were above par i must say - not to mention the surround system when you tuned in the discovery channel. The bathroom amenities were great, wooden and even the toothpaste were in tablets - although it would have been nice not to have them wrapped in plastic. Regardless this was a fantastic stay - Mandarin really knows how to anticipate your every need and creating unexpected wow factors where possible. Thank you!

I found a great deal through an app I book my hotels through and wanted to have a nice suite for my wedding days here in Hong Kong. Hazel received us with a warm welcome and we felt a sincere feeling of joy after sharing the news we would get married during our stay. During our stay we were spoiled and had an amazing room, we couldn’t have asked for more. We would like to gratefully thank Hazel and the whole team at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental for the extra mile they’ve gone through for us! Upon leaving we received a personal letter from Hazel and a wedding gift. I’d recommend everyone to stay at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental if they need the best of the best and flawless service. We hope to see you again on our next visit to Hong Kong Hazel!

The Hainanese chicken rice tasted amazing. In my opinion the spicy sauce was the perfect complement to the chicken rice. Probably the best Hainan chicken rice in Central. And that says a lot here in Hong Kong’s CBD.
